Gladstone Trolley Bridge 1893 to 3/12/2014

A wooden truss bridge was built in this location in between Gladstone and Oregon City crossing the Clackamas River in 1893.
Some time later this steel truss bridge replaced the span.
Trolley service was discontinued in 1954, but the bridge was still used for rail freight until 1968 when it was abandoned.
Recently there was an effort to use the structure for pedestrians and bicycles. A grant for this purpose had been approved.
3/6/2014 the footing at the far side of the river, tilted about four feet.  The bridge was demolished from 3/9/2014 to 3/14/2014.
